Since 1 July, the European Patent Office (EPO) started acting as Supplementary International Searching Authority (SISA). To this end the Agreement between the European Patent Organisation and the International Bureau of the World Intellectual Property Organization was updated effective 1 July 2010. In addition, a number of decisions of the President of the EPO and Notices from the EPO have been updated. All these updates have been published in the May-issue of the 2010 Official Journal of the EPO.

In the edition of the “The Cross-Referenced PCT” as issued in April 2010, unfortunately, not all amendments to the PCT Regulations as in force since July 1, 2010 have been taken into account. These amendments relate to the to the establishment of equivalent amount of certain fees. In the enclosed pdf-file these amendments are listed: the text to be deleted is indicated in (strikethrough) red and the new text is indicated in blue. The author apologizes for the inconvenience caused by this omission.

BIC is an acronym of “Bank Identifier Code” also addressed to as SWIFT code.
IBAN is an acronym of “International Bank Account Number”.
BIC and IBAN should be used for all international bank transfers.
When using these codes and the option “split charges” for a transfer within the EU,
the bank charges will be equal to the charges for a domestic transfer.
